University School of Liberal Arts has been established under the aegies of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. This school is operational at Dwarka Campus from the Academic Session 2023-24 and would be offering 04 years BA in Liberal Arts.
The University School of Liberal Arts (USLA) was established in the year 2022 at Dwarka Campus, under the aegis of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University duly approved by the Academic Council of University and Board of Management in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
USLA runs 4 year BA in Liberal Arts Programme with major in History, Sociology and Political Science) with sanctioned intake of 60 students. The Scheme and Curriculum has been framed in keeping with the UGC Guidelines for the four years Undergraduate Programme, announced in December 2022. The First year is common to all the disciplines. Provisions for entry and exit after each year are part of the scheme. An integrated MA Programme is part of the NEP based curriculum scheme. In 2024, the USLA has introduced the Ph.D. Programme in History and Sociology.
The School is constantly organizing various activities for the students as part of their curriculum. The Orientation Programme was organized for the first batch on 13th September 2023, where parents were invited. It had an interesting array of activities ranging from lectures on the concept of liberal arts to dance performance demonstrating new ways of learning in liberal arts. The students’ Freshers Party, course on the Science and Practice of Happiness, Heritage Walks, Fine Arts workshop and visit to museums are part of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the School. The School opens up new vistas of experiential learning in teaching pedagogy for the students.
The faculties of different University School of Studies at Dwarka Campus takes the classes of BA in Liberal Arts programme alongwith visiting faculty appointed for the said programme.
